Welcome to the New A Media Operator

It’s Wednesday evening here in New York and the kind developer I’ve been working with on A Media Operator has finally finished deploying everything.

That means A Media Operator has relaunched on a new system. I’ll explain in more detail why I went this route in a future essay, but because we’re all operators and curious:

  • WordPress powers the site
  • Mailchimp is the ESP
  • Pico is the registration system
  • Stripe remains the payment processor
  • Captivate continues to be the podcast host

And that’s it. A nice, simple system that allows me to take A Media Operator to the next level.

The fact that you’re receiving this email means that the migration went well and you’ll continue to receive the essays as they’re published. But if you want to read the articles on the website, you’ll need to take a couple more simple steps.

When you come to www.amediaoperator.com now, you’ll notice a little AMO circle in the bottom right hand corner. When you click that, a popup modal will appear asking you to join the A Media Operator community. Ignore that. In the top right hand corner of your device, you’ll see it says “Log In.”

Click that. Since this is your first time logging in, you’ll want to either reset your password (since you don’t have one) or just click “request a magic link.” Check your inbox for that magic link, click it and you’ll be automatically logged into A Media Operator.

That’s it.

In the coming weeks, I’ll be launching the Slack channel for premium members. And tomorrow you’ll receive the latest podcast episode that was going to be released today.
